Pathology Research Services

The Pathology Research Services laboratory at UW Medicine Department of Pathology provides expertise in a broad spectrum of morphologic studies required for interpretation of disease processes.

The primary morphologic techniques offered by Pathology Research Services, on a fee for service basis, include paraffin, frozen and electron microscopy tissue processing and embedding, routine histology including special histologic stains, tissue enzyme histochemistry, immunohistochemistry (IHC), immunofluorescence, digital photomicrography, computerized quantitative morphometric analysis, in situ hybridization, and ancillary techniques (such as competitive inhibition assays, and Western and Northern blotting necessary to ensure the specificity and sensitivity of reagents).

Scientists and staff in our lab have many years of experience and expertise in all of these techniques, and are available to help you in the planning and execution of your research projects. .

Please visit the Alpers Lab  website for additional information.

Our lab provides routine histology, immunohistochemistry, and in-situ hybridization services at reasonable prices. We are the Pathology Research Service Lab and the Nephrology Histology Core Lab of the Seattle MMPC (Mouse Metabolic Phenotyping Center).
