We have eight angelfish and others we plan to follow long term. In order to fund this activity, we are engaging in more financially lucrative branch of science. Current research projects, which are ever increasing despite the shortage of funding, are all started with the question of genetic mechanism of aging. In the order of the number of personals, the ongoing projects are:
  1. Genetic pathological studies of the Alzheimer disease.
  2. Molecular biological studies of Werner syndrome
  3. Study of mice with altered metabolism of oxygen free radicals
  4. Genetic mechanism of long-living bird species
  5. Just-started stem cell research
  6. Banking and gene analysis of more than 8000 elderly cohort individuals
